Melisa Montanez, an ex-girlfriend of Wade Wilson, was able to escape his attack that same day. Montanez said Wilson called her using Melton's phone and tried to pick her up in the stolen car. The survivor fought back and refused to get into the car with him before he left and encountered Ruiz.
