In the opening statements of the eye drop murder, the prosecutor said that 39-year-old Jessy Kurczewski killed her long-time friend Lynn Hernan by poisoning her by putting six bottles of Visine eye drops into her water bottle. Kurczewski claimed that Hernan had substance issues and overdosed when questioned by authorities. The state alleges Kurczewski also stole money from Hernan, who was wealthy, and opened a JCPenny account after she died. If Kurczewski is convicted, she could face up to life in prison for first-degree intentional homicide.
