Wendi Adelson eventually decided to end her marriage with her ex-husband, causing some tension when it came to the custody of their children. When the couple split, brother Charlie Adelson made a joke that getting Wendi a TV was cheaper than hiring hitmen. Prosecutors believe that Charlie Adelson hired multiple hitmen to murder Markel in order to regain custody of the kids they shared.
