In opening statements Monday, the state said Howard suffocated Kendy Howard to death, put her in a bathtub, then shot her in an attempt to cover up the crime. Prosecutors claim Daniel killed Kendy because she wanted a divorce and he didn’t want to split their assets which cost over $2 million. Daniel faces several charges including first-degree murder and domestic battery.
