Trooper Joe Paul took the witness stand again Monday in the boyfriend cop murder trial. Karen Read’s defense grilled Trooper Paul about the alleged crime scene and what he could conclude, and confirm, about John O’Keefe’s death. During his testimony, it was discovered Trooper Paul was asked by the Commonwealth not to reconstruct the allegedly deadly pedestrian crash.

Karen Read faces several charges including second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of personal injury and death. She was arrested in February of 2022, a few days after John O’Keefe died. If convicted, Read faces life in prison.
