as posted by the channelOn Thursday, a new witness took the stand in Alec Baldwin's trial for the state. Alessandra Pieta, a gun manufacturer, was qualified as an expert who has knowledge of the gun used in the “Rust” movie shooting. Pieta was questioned about whether or not there was another way the gun could go off other than pulling the trigger, to which he responded no. Pieta stated the only way to fire the gun was by pulling the trigger. Defendant Alec Baldwin previously claimed that he never pulled the trigger of the firearm that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Famed actor and movie producer Alec Baldwin was indicted on one count of involuntary manslaughter in January for the death of 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Hutchins died on Baldwin’s “Rust” movie set. Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for Hutchins’ death. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
