The defense said, “I know the court doesn’t appreciate this, but there is a bias against women.” The judge quickly fired back, saying, “Did you just say I didn’t appreciate it?” calling out the attorney and expressing disagreement with the statement. The trial is expected to begin on July 22 with jury selection.
