Crime scene technician Amanda Conlon took the stand on Tuesday afternoon where she walked the jury through the house where defendant Ashley Benefield allegedly shot her husband, Doug Benefield, in self-defense. Conlon shared images from the house, as well as the gun used to kill Doug Benefield.

In September 2020, Ashley Benefield ran to a neighbor's house in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and stated she had just shot her husband. Douglas Benefield had several gunshot wounds to his leg, arm, and chest area. Ashley Benefield claims she shot him in self-defense after months of alleged abuse. She was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Ashley Benefield made bail and has been living with family and her daughter since the crime.
