as posted by the channelOpening statements began Wednesday afternoon in the trial against former public adminstrator Robert Telles for the murder of Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German. Defense attorney Robert Draskovich told jurors that Telles is a family man who was set up and the public administrator did not murder German. Draskovich also played several threatening voicemails that were made toward German in the weeks before his murder to allegedly prove there were multiple people who wanted to harm German, not his client.

Robert Telles is accused of murdering Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German. After German had written several articles about Telles, a public administrator at the time, he was found stabbed to death outside his home in September 2022. Prosecutors claim Telles’ DNA was found under German’s fingernails. Telles has pleaded not guilty and says he was framed for the murder.
