Judge Whitaker made the ruling based on the jury having knowledge of him being a convicted felon based on one of his charges. However, the judge did not allow the state to continue to question the detective.

The rapper was arrested in May of 2022 along with 27 other alleged gang members. Many of those defendants have taken plea deals in the case.
