as posted by the channelAs the trial against McKinley Louisma continued on Friday afternoon, investigator Marissa Mussman took the stand to present Facebook and Instagram messages exchanged between victim Melody Hoffman and the defendant. Investigators believe that Melody had been posing as a woman named Maddie Brown to communicate with Louisma following their breakup. Later texts show Louisma messaging the victim after her death, asking, "Are you okay?!”

McKinley Louisma, 23, is charged with murder and kidnapping after investigators say he killed Melody Hoffman, 20, in February 2024. The two were reportedly in a romantic relationship before Louisma and her friend, Dakota Van Patten, allegedly worked together to beat Hoffman to death. The victim was placed in the trunk of a car and later dumped in a local lake. If found guilty, Louisma could face life in prison.
