13:49Now PlayingA responding deputy testified in the trial against Collin Griffith on Wednesday. Deputy Alexander Walker with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office explained that after he got to the scene, he spoke with Collin Griffith and put him in the back of his patrol car. Deputy Walker testified that Griffith appeared calm and the two discussed video games after his mother’s death. The deputy also testified that he found Griffith in an odd position, over his mother’s head and body, instead of performing CPR like he had told the dispatcher he was doing.

Seventeen-year-old Collin Griffith is accused of killing his mother, Catherine Griffith, after the two allegedly got in a fight in September of 2024. Collin Griffith told investigators his mother came at him with a knife and she fell on it, forcing a fatal stab wound, but detectives say the teen really murdered her. In 2023, Griffith confessed to killing his father in Oklahoma in what he claimed was self-defense. He was originally arrested for his father’s death but those charges got dropped.
