The state argued during closing statements in his jail trial that Duane Davis did not act in self-defense when he got into a fight with another inmate in December 2024. The prosecution said that Davis saw the other inmate as soon as he walked into the room and surveillance video shows both of them were "squared up," and had clenched fists as soon as they saw each other.
