The first witness to take the stand in Karen Read’s retrial was paramedic Timothy Nuttall, who responded to the scene where Boston police officer John O’Keefe was found dead in the front yard of his friends’ home. Nuttall testified that when he arrived, O’Keefe’s body was cold to the touch and had no detectable pulse. Multiple paramedics attempted life-saving measures to revive him but were ultimately unsuccessful.
