as posted by the channel

Mark Sievers is expected to be in a Lee County, Florida courtroom for a days-long hearing to appeal both his murder conviction and death sentence. Sievers was found guilty of orchestrating his wife’s murder; Dr. Teresa Sievers was found bludgeoned to death with a hammer inside her home back in 2015. Prosecutors believe Mark hired his best friend, Curtis Wayne Wright, and another man, Jimmy Rodgers, nicknamed “The Hammer,” to kill Teresa. Mark was sentenced to death for his role in the murder, while Wright took a plea deal, testifying against Mark, granting him 25 years in prison. Rodgers was sentenced to life.
