A Colorado man is on trial for allegedly killing his longtime girlfriend’s 6-year-old son back in 2016. Prosecutors say 40-year-old Darin Thrailkill strangled the child, who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Thrailkill wasn’t arrested until seven years later, in 2023. His defense team claims the boy died from aspiration pneumonia and asthma complications. Thrailkill faces charges of first- and second-degree murder.
