Cara McCarthy, a forensic firearms and tool marks analyst, took the stand on Thursday in the case against Brendan Banfield. He is currently on trial for the death of his wife and another man inside their home. McCarthy examined both the guns that were allegedly used to shoot Joseph Ryan in February 2023 and determined they matched the bullets/ bullet fragments found inside him during the autopsy.
