Stines is accused of fatally shooting Circuit Judge Kevin Mullins inside the judge's chambers in September 2024. During the hearing, Stines' aunt testified that in the days leading up to the shooting, her nephew appeared paranoid, couldn't sleep, and repeatedly expressed fears that someone was going to harm his wife and child.
