In Florida, normally pedestrians have the right of way, but that right isn't absolute. As a pedestrian, you still have an obligation to make sure that you're not placing yourself in danger. You can't just simply walk out in front of traffic and presume that you have the right of way. If you are inside of a crosswalk and you have the appropriate arrow or light, then you have the right of way. If oncoming traffic has the traffic light, then they have the right of way.
