More than 100 projects across the UK are set for a boost after the Government announced £2 billion in levelling up funding.
The latest round of funding will deliver much-needed economic growth and new jobs to communities across the country, the Department for Levelling Up said.
However, the southeast is being handed more regeneration money than the northeast, Yorkshire and the West Midlands.
Tory MPs who missed out have accused Mr Sunak of favouring the south as a result.
One Tory MP in the northwest said the Government had made a "mockery" of levelling up, adding: "A Government that U-turned on a minister for the north is delivering for the south once again."
