Presenter Piers Morgan challenged Rishi Sunak to a £1,000 bet over the Rwanda plan, betting the PM £1,000 to a refugee charity that he "doesn't get anybody on those planes before the election".

The bet has been met with widespread criticism, although Mr Sunak has said he was 'totally taken by surprise".

Iain Dale's Cross Question panel of the Lib Dems' Layla Moran, the Tories' Tim Loughton, journalist Steve Richards and The Suns' political correspondent Noa Hoffman, largely defended the PM, arguing that the bet did not seem intentional.
