as posted by the channelJames O'Brien gives his thoughts on the news that Frank Hester, a major Tory Party donor, has been forced to apologise after reportedly saying MP Diane Abbott made him 'want to hate all black women' and that she 'should be shot.'
Hester, who runs a health tech firm and donated £10 million to the Tories last year, stressed that while his remarks were 'rude', they had 'nothing to do with her gender nor colour of skin.'
James also addresses the 'feeble' defence of Hester by Tory Minister, Mel Stride, and former Conservative Party donor, Lord Marland.
"I know Frank Hester, and he is not a racist... he made some unfortunate remarks that do sound racist, and quite rightly he has apologised for them," said Marland. "He does a lot of business in Jamaica, he does business in Malaysia, in Bangladesh and places like that so he's not a racist."
Similarly, Stride stated: "I don't think what he was saying was a gender based or race based comment."
