"I'm holding the chequebook back."

Mohamed Amersi has donated over half a million pounds to the Conservative Party since 2018. Recent events have made him reconsider continuing his funding. The businessman thinks there's 'double-standards' at play, given Rishi Sunak's defence of major donor Frank Hester.

Mr Amersi claims he was not comparatively supported by the party when he was "defamed." Mr Hester, on the other hand, has been defended despite saying that Diane Abbott 'should be shot'. He also said the MP made him 'want to hate all black women,' in comments he has denied are related to her race or gender.
