YouTube Description
as posted by the channelShelagh Fogarty speaks to a caller named Sue, who is 'outraged' that the St George's cross on England's new football kit does not feature traditional colours.
Nike has given the cross a "playful refresh," swapping the usual red for a mixture of red, navy, turquoise, and purple. Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, has expressed his preference for the original design, emphasising that the St George's cross should remain untouched. Labour Leader, Keir Starmer, has similarly stressed the cross' role as a unifying symbol used by all and claims it doesn't require alteration.
'The flag is used by everybody, it is a unifier, it doesn't need to be changed,' Starmer told The Sun.
He added: 'We just need to be proud of it,' he added. 'So I think they should just reconsider this and change it back.'
