As the boss of Thames Water says bills need to rise by 40% to pay for improvements, Matthew Wright speaks to experts to discuss if nationalisation is the answer.

Thames Water is currently in a race to find extra funds due to investors declining to give the company more money unless bills rise.

"That is the price customers have to pay for the investment in our infrastructure that's needed," boss Chris Weston admitted.

Matthew hears from Ross Clark, a columnist at The Spectator, who wrote the piece: 'Thames Water proves privatisation has failed', as well as Professor Ewan McGaughey, a professor of Law at King's College London, who specialises in public services and regulated industries.
