It comes as after the revelation that DNA stored on crystal could bring back humanity billions of years after extinction. A team from the University of Southampton's Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) utilised lasers to inscribe the data onto a 5D crystal.
British scientists have successfully stored the DNA of an entire human on a crystal, which could potentially be used to resurrect humanity in the event of extinction.
They claim this method can preserve the information for billions of years, and unlike other storage formats, the crystal does not degrade over time.
