This comes as the IDF chief, Herzi Halevi, told his troops 'to prepare the ground for possible entry and to continue degrading Hezbollah'.
The Israeli military said earlier that it was calling up two reserve brigades for "operational missions" in northern parts of the country and positioning them closer to the Lebanese border.
Meanwhile British nationals are being advised to get out of Lebanon "now" with PM Sir Keir Starmer saying he is "very worried" about the escalation in fighting.
Journalist Christina Patterson says: 'I'm a fan of international law, but at the moment it seems as though everyone is breaking it.'
Broadcaster Liam Halligan says: 'We've now on the brink of a very, very dangerous escalation of where we are' and 'this is a moment for the international community to say: 'this must stop.'"
Former Tory Party chairman Greg Hands says: 'I'm not trying to excuse Israel, but I think you have to recognise the situation that they are in with Hezbollah.'
