Aitou, is roughly 110 kilometres northeast of the capital, Beirut, whose southern suburbs have been hammered repeatedly.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) say the attack on Aitou “struck a target belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organisation”, they have also said the incident is being examined following reports of civilian casualities.
A spokesman for the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Human Rights has expressed “real concerns” about the incident.
Journalist Oliver Marsden visited the town following the strike and describes what he saw to James O'Brien.
