The average skilled worker immigrant made a net contribution of £16,300 to the UK economy last year, a new Migration Advisory Committee report has stated.

James O'Brien notes that the average Brit contributes £800 a year - 20 times less.

Natasha Clark, LBC’s Political Editor, says that Keir Starmer is “setting himself up for a really difficult challenge about migration" as he has pledged to reduce migration numbers while continuing to pursue economic growth.

James O’Brien says it comes down to the “numbers of people and the numbers of pounds.”
