Suella Braverman stepped in for James O'Brien today, and discussed the 'unacceptable' rising migration figures from 2024.

Provisional government figures show that there was a 25 increase in the number of Channel crossings last year compares to 2023.

The ex-Tory Home Secretary said migration was up 20% since the general election, and that in December 2024, it was three times higher than in December 2023.

She acknowledged that the Tories did not 'stop the boats', but also added that Labour chose to scrap the Rwanda plan, and asked if listeners had 'faith' in the government to stop the smuggling gangs.

"Labour, frankly, have just put up a big sign on the White Cliffs of Dover saying: 'Britain's a soft touch, we're a free-for-all, come on over'", she added.
