10:51Now PlayingJames O’Brien is joined by Dr Victoria Rose, a consultant plastic surgeon who works for Guys and St Thomas' and Chelsea and Westminster hospital. Dr Rose has been to Gaza four times, two of which were after Oct 7 and she intends to return next month.
She tells James about the situation in Gaza and how the lack of aid reaching people is ‘making it harder to achieve any meaningful impact.'
‘The restrictions are getting more and more out of hand’ she says, meaning that ‘malnutrition’ is rife, which makes it difficult to conduct surgical procedures.
Israel's campaign has killed more than 45,400 Palestinians, more than half of them women and children, and wounded more than 108,000 others, according to the Health Ministry.
More than 90% of Gaza's 2.3 million Palestinians have been driven from their homes, most of them now sheltering in sprawling, squalid tent camps in south and central Gaza, subject to frequent attacks.
