Farmers criticised Reed for apologising but failing to address their concerns directly.
Protesters argued the changes threaten family farms, with some facing multi-million-pound tax bills, forcing land sales and risking corporate takeovers.
Reed’s promises, including increased British food procurement for public institutions, have been deemed by many to be insufficient.
