The film explores Ukrainian war crimes prosecutors who believe it is part of Russian policy to execute surrendering prisoners of war. The FT investigates the evidence to map the rise in cases.
Christopher Miller tells James O'Brien that Russia has been violating international law for years, with videos on social media providing disturbing proof. He cites one example where a Ukrainian soldier was filmed being shot by Russian soldiers after being disarmed and asked if he had any final words. Since then, the frequency of these executions has escalated, with the FT uncovering evidence of "dozens of cases" of Russian soldiers carrying out executions on the battlefield.
EU and world leaders will now head to Kyiv on Monday in a strong show of support for Ukraine and Zelenskyy. Discussions between the countries have raised fears any truce would likely favour Moscow.
It comes as Zelenskyy continues to insist that Ukraine will not agree to a peace deal unless they have a hand in ceasefire negotiations.
