6:29Now PlayingBarbershops and other cash-intensive businesses across England have been targeted by police and other law enforcement officers during a three-week crackdown on high street crime.
In total, 265 premises were visited across Operation Machinize, where officers secured freezing orders over bank accounts totalling more than £1m, executed 84 warrants and made 35 arrests. The operation saw 55 individuals questioned about their immigration status and a further 97 individuals safeguarded in relation to potential modern slavery.
Reform UK's leader Nigel Farage joined Nick Ferrari this morning to discuss police raiding barbers and vape shots, suspected of being fronts for crimes such as drug dealing and money laundering.
This kind of crime has been "going on for years", he tells Nick.
"It's a way of funnelling large amounts of money through, declaring some of it to the tax man, and that's what the racket is. The drugs trade is all cash."
The Reform leader also says he "never agreed" with Trump's tariffs, comparing them to the 2022 mini-budget. He said: "I think Trump did too much too soon, rather like Liz Truss did."
