The Board of Deputies have traditionally supported the Israeli government. Now, 36 members say they can 'no longer remain silent'.
Rabbi Jeffrey tells James O'Brien about his support for the letter - while making soup for Passover.
He also speaks about his worries over how 'the definition of antisemitism is connected to the criticism of Israel'.
Referencing the killing of 15 paramedics, the letter says: “Such incidents are too painful and shocking to take in, but we know in our hearts we cannot turn a blind eye or remain silent at this renewed loss of life and livelihoods, with hopes dwindling for a peaceful reconciliation and the return of the hostages."
