The Russian production of Sesame Street', translated as 'Ulitsa Sezam', first aired in 1996.
The original characters from Sesame Street were adapted to a Russian audience. Ms Lance Rogoff tells Matt Frei that the recognisable character Big Bird was modelled after Russian folklore character Domovoy.
However, the attempt to bring the much-loved children's show to Russia was met with 'volatility. Ms Lance Rogoff reveals to Matt how a broadcast investor and broadcast partner were 'assassinated' during their venture in Moscow.
