as posted by the channelExperts warn a “new era of terrorism” could follow escalation of the Middle East crisis after the US launched strikes on Iran’s nuclear programme.
US President Donald Trump ordered US planes and submarines to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities overnight into Sunday.
Former UK national security adviser Lord Ricketts said it is a “dangerous and very unpredictable moment”, adding Iranian retaliation of some kind is “likely”.
Discussing Iran, the former chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee, said: “This is a major strike against their key strategic assets and so I think we have to expect that they will try and get back at American bases, American economic installations, possibly even America’s allies in the Gulf.”
However, international security expert Philip Ingram warned Vanessa Feltz that there is a 'frightening' way the Middle Eastern nation could retaliate.
