After former Labour leader Neil Kinnock says Labour should consider a wealth tax, James O'Brien explains how 'a tiny nibble at the largest fortunes in the land would benefit everybody else'.

James O'Brien traced it back to the days of the 2008 financial crash, followed by austerity, then Brexit, Boris Johnson and Liz Truss - to explain the country's fiscal story leading up to today's discussion.

He also took aim at sections of the media who oppose the wealth tax, saying: 'These are the same people who told you Brexit would be brilliant'.

Labour ministers have so far refused to confirm or deny reports that the government is considering implementing one.
