Starmer and Macron have unveiled a "one in, one out" agreement aimed at curbing the number of migrants crossing the Channel in small boats. Under the new plan, migrants who arrive illegally by sea will be swiftly returned to France — in exchange for allowing vetted asylum seekers to come to the UK through a safe, legal route.
