7:59Now PlayingNick Ferrari is joined by Ghislaine Maxwell's brother, who has defended her and launched a scathing attack on her primary accuser, Virginia Giuffre, calling her a “monster” and saying he “shed no tears” after her death.
Speaking to LBC’s Nick Ferrari, Ian Maxwell insisted his sister was innocent and accused Ms Giuffre of “ruining the lives” of both Ghislaine and Prince Andrew.
Virginia Giuffre, widely regarded as the most high-profile victim of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, died earlier this year at her farm in Neergabby, Australia.
Mr Maxwell’s remarks come as pressure mounts on Donald Trump to release the so-called “Epstein files”, a list allegedly naming those who collaborated with Epstein, the convicted sex offender and Ghislaine Maxwell’s long-term boyfriend.
Although the former president has so far resisted releasing the files, he has suggested he might pardon Ms Maxwell if she helped expose others involved with Epstein.
Calling for transparency, Ian Maxwell told LBC: “I believe that transparency is generally the right way to go, and I believe transparency is the friend of my sister.”
