9:20Now PlayingLewis Goodall is joined by former British ambassador to Ukraine, Leigh Turner, to talk about the upcoming talks between European leaders, President Zelenskyy and Donald Trump at the White House.
Following Friday's 'disastrous' summit in Alaska between Trump and Putin, which notably excluded the Ukrainian leader, Trump promised to meet Zelenskyy to discuss the outcomes of the meeting.
Keir Starmer, alongside fellow European leaders Emmanuel Macron, Giorgia Meloni and Friedrich Merz are due to accompany Zelenskyy to the White House.
The former ambassador to Ukraine expects the meeting will revolve around 'land-swapping' between Russia and Ukraine as well as Ukraine's security.
President Trump previously stated that Zelenskyy could 'end the war with Russia immediately', should Ukraine agree to never join NATO and cede Crimea to Russia.
Turner notes the attendance from European leaders who have 'a record of getting on well with Trump'. He also suggests that they will want to try and 'reel Trump back in', following his summit with Putin.
