He argues that this could spark a 'low-level war' in the Labour Party between the 'soft-left' and the 'Blairites'. While listing the current criticism floating around in the Party, Marr points out how the current government has 'tightened up the ministerial code' and that if Rayner was a cabinet minister in any previous recent government, she would have stayed.
Nigel Farage hasn't failed to take this opportunity to hint at the general election, suggesting this could take place as early as 2027, according to his predictions. On him, Marr says that, if we were to go to the polls today, 'he'd be elected Prime Minister'.
