4:21Now PlayingConservative commentator and political activist Charlie Kirk has died after been shot in the neck at an event at Utah Valley University.
Kirk, who is the executive director of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), can be seen getting struck in graphic footage circulating on social media.
US President Donald Trump announced his death on Truth Social.
He wrote: "The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.
"He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!"
Kirk's wife and children were reportedly at the event when he was shot.
