James O’Brien examines the decline of the Conservative Party - from Thatcher to Truss and Brexit to Boris Johnson - and asks: has the party that shaped modern Britain finally destroyed itself?

It comes as Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch addresses her party's conference in Manchester, with a focus on the economy.

She began by saying the test in the 2020s would be to "restore a strong economy, secure borders, and rebuild Britain's strength."

Badenoch also defended the Conservatives' historic record, saying "we have steered this country through its darkest days".
