Christopher Cash and Christopher Berry were accused of spying for China between December 2021 and February 2023, with both men denying any wrongdoing.
The PM made the decision to release witness statements related to the case after Number 10 accused the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) of having blocked the publication of a crucial witness statement.
The CPS hit back, and insisted it was entirely up to the government to release the evidence if it wanted to.
These documents showed that there was 'large-scale espionage activities', deeming China as 'a threat'.
Sir Mel Stride blames the government for not handing over evidence to the CPS, speculating that they were either 'disengaged' from the matter or are 'cosying up to China' for economic reasons.
Nick pushes back, asking whether this same accusation can be attributed to the Conservative Party when they were in power.
