8:22Now PlayingLewis Goodall is joined by Reform UK's board member and former advisor to Nigel Farage, Gawain Towler, to discuss the party’s performance in the Caerphilly by-election and the controversy surrounding Reform MP Sarah Pochin’s comments about diversity in advertising.
After claiming adverts 'full of black people' drive her 'mad’, the Runcorn and Helsby MP was forced to apologise.
Backtracking, the Reform UK MP said her comments were 'phrased poorly' but insisted that many adverts are 'unrepresentative of British society'. Leader Nigel Farage has not made a comment yet.
Gawain Towler acknowledges that Sarah Pochin’s comments were not ‘brilliantly described’ yet agrees that diversity in advertising ‘isn’t an accurate description of the UK’. He adds that 'diversity quotas are racist', especially when it comes to employment, because 'poor white people are never picked'.
