The former ambassador to the US is said to be under pressure from the Prime Minister to hand back the payoff, with the total sum considered to be as high as £55,000 before tax and deductions, according to a report by the Sunday Times.
The former Labour peer lost his role in September 2025 over his relationship with the convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
When pressed on the matter, McFadden admits to Lewis that Mandelson should 'give the money back'.
Commenting on Trump's truth social post depicting the Obamas as apes, McFadden admits the posts are racist but wouldn't go as far to overtly label the President himself as racist.
Instead he tells Lewis, 'he's the President and so we have to deal with him'.
