YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIain Dale speaks to Former UK Minister for the Americas, Sir Alan Duncan, about the possibility of army officials turning on Trump over his Iran threats.
In the president's latest threat to Iran, he issued a truth social post saying 'a whole civilisation will die tonight' if there isn't 'total regime change'.
Trump previously issued an expletive-ridden post promising 'hell' if the Iranian regime didn't open the Strait of Hormuz, the waterway responsible for 70% of global oil shipping.
Sir Alan Duncan reminds Iain that Trump's threat to hit Iranian bridges and oil fields is 'against international law' and would be equivalent to a war crime.
Due to this, Iain asks whether army officials could potentially 'refuse to carry out' Trump's orders in Iran.
'It would be dangerous and unprecedented', responds Sir Alan Duncan, but he doesn't rule it out completely.
