10:19Now PlayingDale Vince joins Ben Kentish to discuss the UK’s climate crisis and the growing political divide over climate change.
He takes aim at Richard Tice’s comments on the heatwave, arguing that denying the impact of man-made climate change is “anti-science”, while warning that the consequences are already being felt across the UK.
Asked about recent extreme heat, Reform UK's Tice said, “Climate change has always happened. It always will. Maybe the smarter thing to do is to adapt to it than think arrogantly that you can stop it. [...] When it’s a bit warm, let’s enjoy it. And if it means that English wine and sparkling wine gets better and better, fantastic. That means we can take on the French – fantastic. Let’s celebrate some of these things rather than just be sort of doom and gloom about it.”
Dale also discusses extreme heat, the burning of fossil fuels and what governments should be doing to tackle climate change.
