16:45Now PlayingLegal AF contributor Ray Brescia discusses what is commonly referred to as the “3.5-Percent Rule”: the notion that once a social movement secures the public support of 3.5 percent of a population, significant social change can follow. But is this a magic number, sort of like the “10,000-hour” rule popularized by Malcolm Gladwell? Here, Brescia breaks down both the 10,000-hour concept and the 3.5-percent rule to show that, where the 10,000-hour rule tends to only work through what is referred to as “deliberate practice,” the 3.5-percent rule has the best chance of succeeding when it involves what Brescia calls “deliberate protest.”
